Kirra Kite Festival is an outdoor event that celebrates arts, music, multiculturalism, wind sports and local cuisine in Gold Coast. Pelican Sands Resort invite to take part in the festivities that include street performers, circus acts, chalk art, live bands, camel rides, workshops, market stalls, pyrotechnic skydiving and kite flying.
The festival will kick off on Saturday night, 19 November 2011, with a mouth-watering compilation of dining options and entertainment at select local beachfront venues. It will also unveil the area as a distinct food & wine precinct. Food enthusiasts booked at our Gold Coast airport accommodation can expect a full-on gastronomical experience.
The Kirra Kite Festival will be held on the picturesque Kirra Beach, situated on the southern Gold Coast of Australia, on 20 November 2011. The event is free of charge so any guest at our Tugun Family beachfront resort is welcome to join.
Visitors can experience a fun weekend with colourful kites, vibrant characters and fun interactive activities for all ages. The all-day program includes large-scale character kites, a world-class artist line-up featuring island styles and gypsy music, camel rides, face painting, street & circus performers, delectable cuisine, workshops, markets, kite surfing, pyrotechnic skydiving, live art demonstrations, puppet shows and more.
